Amidst a worldwide shortage of doctors, it’s never been more difficult for students to choose medicine. There is a huge demand from students who are interested in this profession but often the entry requirements are very challenging.
This is a dilemma which St George’s University for Medicine was set up to solve. Their mandate is to address the worldwide shortage of doctors by providing quality medical education at scale. That is, they have places for all good students who are interested in medicine. There are some entry requirements. Students need to have good grades in required sciences like biology and chemistry. Students need to be genuine in their intention. But for if you are the right fit, if you are good at science and have the personal attributes to be a great doctor, they have a place for you.
SGU sets you up for success by integrating you into the course at the entry point that is best suited for you. SGU tailor the length of the MD degree depending on your prior subjects, qualifications and grades. So your MD degree can take between 4 and 7 years to complete.
And once you are accepted into SGU, the study experience is both intensive and very rewarding. You can choose to study part of the MD degree in the UK and part in Grenada. Then you have a full range of international options for the clinical rotations in your last two years.
You graduate with an MD degree after completing your USMLE and clinical rotations and an international career in medicine awaits you. You could choose to study your residency in the U.S or in the country of your choosing.
