Do you try to gain entry into a competitive university with few places in medicine? Or do you complete a first degree in health science or biology and then attempt to get into medicine in your home country? Or do you look further afield?
Dr Austin Enright is a qualified Orthopaedic Surgeon who is working in New Zealand. He had to consider these questions as he embarked on a pathway to medicine. After a number of hurdles early in his path, he enrolled and then graduated from St George’s University. He benefited from the full range of study and experience options at SGU starting off his studies in the UK then moving to Grenada for his later years. His clinical rotations were in New York, the U.K and Canada. You can listen to his presentation, to learn about his experience of SGU and the steps he took after graduating to specialize in Orthopaedics.
Please note his presentation is best to view on a large screen and his slides start about 4 minutes in. So if you are impatient just forward to about the 4 minute mark.
